Pinewood Derby

This was our first Pinewood Derby. Somehow between moving from our old ward to our new one, Jaden had just missed both derbies for his first 2 years of scouts. This was his first and last chance. Thanks to David, Jaden and the boys were able to build their cars and have a PRACTICE TRACK to race them on. It was great to run the car down, tweak it, run it down again, make another tweak. We bought kits for Kaleb and Bradley because we knew they would want to make their own car just for fun. But we didn't think about Brynnlee. Boy was that a mistake. She felt so left out. Luckily the boys are good at sharing with her... or just giving her what she wants. ;)

Brynnlee took this very seriously. When she lost, she lost hard...

But when she won... she partied just as hard. :)

When we got to the Pack Meeting, we were surprised to see that they allowed younger siblings to race their cars, and if they didn't have one, they had supplies there for the kids to make and decorate their own Banana car. Brynnlee was so happy!

Jaden did great! I am proud of him for coming in 3rd, but I am mostly proud of him for being such a great example to his brothers.  He was a good sport when he lost, and he was excited for others when they won. Way to go Jade! :)
