Handsome Dudes

After church on Sunday, I attempted a quick little photo shoot. I kept Bradley laughing and smiling, but I think Jaden and Kaleb just thought I was a crazy lady. Oh well.

This is Bradley's "Don't watch me eat my breakfast leftovers off the floor" pose...

...Kaleb's "Blue Steel"...

...and Jaden's "businessman" shot.

Here's Bradley striking a pose.

It's all fun and games until someone starts biting!

But he got over it!

Strolling Around

Maybe it's because it's summertime, but lately it has just been pointless dressing the kids in the morning. Between swimming, playing "tougher" and... well just their normal play, they always seem to loose their shirts, and then eventually their pants. Oh well... at least they are staying cool.

A recent game that they like to play is "Babies." This is where Jaden and Kaleb alternate who gets to be the Daddy while the other one and Bradley are the babies. Sometimes I get to play. I am always designated the role of "Grandma." Many times the Daddy takes his babies to Grandma for babysitting. I have to say I really enjoy this game. Whenever they need something they always turn to the "Daddy." Kinda nice! Especially when Kaleb gets into one of his whiney moods, I'll just tell him to talk to his "Daddy" and... man... Jaden works wonders!

Now they have started including the stroller in their play. This is a stroller for a doll or in their case, their bears. Bradley can fit in it, and even our scrawny little Kaleb can fit. AND Kaleb can hold Bradley on his lap in it! But I try not to let them do that... don't want the thing to break now! Anyway, I took a few videos of the boys playing... enjoy!

Happy 4th of July! "Where there's never a ghost or braid"

So... what can you get with 10 dollars at Walmart and a whole lot of sunscreen ? Hours and hours of summer fun. This is how the boys have been spending their days. They LOVE this pool. It's big enough for the 3 of them to fit comfortably, but small enough to stay warm in the sun. It has been GREAT for me to be able to send them outside again, so I can get some things done, and they can wear themselves out! One day, after about 3 hours, and 3 applications of sunscreen, I seriously had to drag them back inside. They were so upset! Ahhhh... good times.

Here's Charles joining them after his shift at the Temple.

Another thing the boys love to do is play with our new couches. Since the cushions are removable, the boys have found all sorts of uses for them...

This one is their boat...

Here is Bradley in his boat... (we didn't know he could climb up onto the couch by himself till we found him like this)

A bed...

A fort!!

And here's Kaleb pretending to be Jaden's Dad. I don't know why he opted for the Mr. Potato glasses over some that actually fit, but... they worked!

And now... in honor of today... the boys would like to sing you a song:

One Of The Boys

After a harrowing 10 months of having to watch his older brothers get to wrestle with Dad, Bradley has finally crossed over and reached his rite of passage. Unfortunately I only caught the end of it on camera. Welcome to the fight club Brad, (ha!) and watch out for Kaleb... he's vicious.

Kaleb has also given Bradley a new nickname. I'm not quite sure how to spell it phonetically, but the teacher in me is screaming for the correct phonemes to be represented.

(Bryce, maybe you can help me out with this one.)

It's not pronounced as an over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder, but the name is Bra-Bra. As in Bradley. How do I make that last A in his name say it's short sound?

I know the English language has rules... [along with way too many exceptions] such as... when a word is CVC, the vowel is short. "cat, picnic, moss..." Or if the word ends in a vowel that is not silent, it will make the long sound. "domino, me,"

Sooooo, if it is not CVC, and it has a vowel at the end, and I don't want it to say the long sound, how do I spell this correctly? Brah? No... Bragh? Probably not...

Thank you. I will expect an answer on my desk by morning.

Bradley Update

Bradley Reed Socci was born August 7, 2008, and is almost 9 months old now... crazy. Yes, we DO call him Bradley, but he has a few other nicknames... "Blably"-- This one came from Kaleb because he couldn't pronounce Bradley. "Brabbles"-- came from Charles... not quite sure why. And "Rad Brad" -- from his cousin Forrest Jr. He has been such an easy and happy baby (knock on wood!) Always so smiley and cuddly... I just want him to be a baby forever! And it helps that I finally have a "Momma's Boy." He is the only one to actually learn to say "Mama" before "Dada." Yay! What can I say... I feel the love!

He is a very content little guy, most of the time. It amazes me how he can play by himself for long periods of time. I can set him down next to a box of toys and then go do the dishes, or fold laundry, or cook a meal... and he just entertains himself. I don't remember the older 2 ever being that easy. But I really appreciate it. It's like he just knows that I am stressed out with 3 little ones... and Charles is so busy with school and work and doesn't get to be home very much... it's like Bradley just wants to give me a break. A very much appreciated break at that.

Here he is playing happily by himself outside.

We forgot all about suncreen for his bald little head and he got his first sunburn :( Here's Kaleb making sure Bradley keeps his hat on...

Here's Bradley playing on the train table... I assure you he was safe!

Here's Bradley with his cousin Katee Jo who is only 6 days younger than him. (He's really good at raising one eyebrow!)
Bradley is a pretty good eater. He is also a very HAPPY eater!

Bradley still doesn't have any teeth yet, but he wants real food... now!

The little boys also love their "baby." They get so excited to see him every morning when he wakes up. They still ask if they can hold him, or feed him, and always like to play with him. Bradley laughs a lot, but not as hard as when the boys are playing with him. He really loves his big brothers.

Our Home

Hello everyone! I am attempting to blog, but I make no promises of it's upkeep nor of it's appeal. However, with Kare's expert advice, I will try my best! Our biggest change for our family, most recently, has been moving into our first house. We bought a home in West Jordan and are finally just beginning to reap the rewards of having a backyard. The boys have been driving me crazy all winter being cooped up inside, and now I can feel completely guiltless just kicking them outside for a while! This house even came equipped with a drinking fountain in the backyard... all I need now is an outhouse and they'll have no excuse to come back inside for HOURS!! mwah-ha-ha!

This past week or so the boys have enjoyed playing soccer, T-ball, running around, building "rocket ships," playing cops and robbers, doing somersaults and wrestling in the yard. They are pretty sensitive to the sun, so need to wear sunglasses, hats and sunscreen most of the time, but they still have a lot of fun.
We have a spare bedroom for anyone who wants to come visit us. Previous guests have included, but are not limited to: Mere, Amber, Mom and Dad Socci, Michelle and Forrest, Katee Jo, Bryan and Forrest Jr. Although no one has, as of yet, repeated their stay, please do not take that as a bad omen. Come and visit us! We don't bite! Well... Kaleb does... but we're working on that.
