Thanksgiving in CA

Thanksgiving in Lancaster!  I've waited too long to blog, so I do't remember much.  But enjoy the pictures. :)

What's Thanksgiving in Lancaster without a little Turkey Bowl?  Charles caught that, by the way.  Yep.  He's still got it.

I love this little sequence of Forrest.

Visiting cousins in Tehachapi is one of our favorite things to do when we go to Lancaster.  The backyard is huge and always full of fun things to do.

Kaleb: Indoor Soccer

Kaleb and his 3 buddies from last season (Isaac, Cole and Agustin) all stayed together to try some indoor soccer in the winter.  It was REALLY unfortunate that Alli couldn't be the coach again.  Almost as unfortunate as dealing with the lady who WAS the coach.  Man, she was bad...

Kaleb had fun and did great.  Of course I don't have any of his goals on camera, but he scored a few.

Here is Brynnlee with Luciana... one of the few people Brynn actually likes.  No, loves.

Here he is messing around with his buddy, Agus.

Some of these indoor games were pretty late.  I think our latest game started at 8:30.  On a school night.

This little blondie is Micah, another friend who wanted to come and watch.

They made it!  I don't think they ever had a team name until halfway into the season when Isaac start calling them the Rhinos.  It stuck.

On to basketball!

Jaden: Indoor Soccer

The week after Fall Soccer ended, Jaden and Kaleb went on to give Indoor Soccer a try.  Jaden played with his buddy Lukas.  Since we liked his coach so much last year, we arranged for Jaden to play on Marco's team again.

Jaden spent about half the game in the goal,

and the other half rotating between all of the other positions.

All of Jaden's games were played on a high school Basketball court.

Although it was fun to try something new, I think both of the boys prefer to play outdoor instead of indoor.  Indoor was pretty crazy and chaotic.  However, it DID force the need to work on better ball control.  It also seemed to wear the kids out a lot quicker.

In this particular game Alli was holding Brynn on her lap and talking with me.  Neither of us noticed when the ball came souring straight for us until it made contact with the side of Alli's face.  Poor girl had one watering eye, and swollen left side of her face as well as a ringing ear for the rest of the game... Maybe even the rest of the night.

Not long after that, Jaden joined her misery when this shot slipped through his fingers, bounced off the goal post and back into his face.  That was a sad night.

But he pushed forward.  Way to go Jade!

What Happens When Aunt Alli Babysits for 3 or 4 Hours...

Charles and I went out with our friends Julie and Ryan one night to celebrate Ryan's birthday.  We went to dinner (Zupa's) and a movie (Skyfall.)  Alli was kind enough to watch the kids for us.

When we finished the date and arrived back at my parents' house to pick up the kids, they told us they thought up a movie, wrote a script, drew pictures of characters, made backgrounds and scenery, collected props, auditioned for parts, rehearsed and filmed an entire movie while we were gone.

Alli told us the boys had come up with the story all on their own.  She just helped them make it to the "big screen."  :)

The next day, Alli edited the film and presented us with what I will now present to you...

Give it up for... Monster Scare.

Amazing work.  I have too many favorite parts.  If I start naming them, it will pretty much be the whole film.  I love that Kaleb is the villain.  I love that Bradley is a cute pink bunny with an umbrella.  I love that my MOM and DAD are in it.  I love that Jaden sings his own theme music when he rushes off to save the day.  I love Alli's editing job and the bloopers at the end.  My mom was cracking me up.

Thank you for helping the kids make this movie, Al.  I love it.  You rock!

Bradley:  Mom, can you call Kaleb's teacher?
Me:  What for?
Bradley: So I can talk to Kaleb and say "Hey, can I break your helicopter?  I need more blocks."
